I don’t get it.
What’s with the sudden burst in long distance relationships? I get it, the internet is great. Texting is great. Skype is great.. but why are all these sixteen year olds in relationships with people they’ve never met? I don’t get it. It seems so stupid to me. I might be a bit cynical on the whole “I love a person I never met before” concept, so forgive me BUT I find it absolutely ridiculous. Yeah, you get to know the person (good), yeah you’re more likely to ‘fall’ for the personality (good) but relationships will AND always will have a physical aspect. You have to be with a person, see how they act around their friends, with you, with their family before you say “I’m inlove with you” because at the end of the day if you’re talking to your significant other on skype, you’re still only talking to a computer screen and that’s a huge barrier. I honestly don’t think you’ll ever truly know a person if it’s through online this, text that, and (MAYBE) the occasional visit. So, what I’m saying is you can’t really love a person you don’t actually know. There’s so many more aspects to a person than what she/he tells you. Words only mean so much, actions are most important.
